Oakhurst Golf Club

Oakhurst Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf course located north of downtown Houston in Porter, Texas. Designed by Dave Marr and Jay Riviere, the course stretches 7,002 yards from the championship tees and winds through towering pines and native hardwoods characteristic of the area's landscape.

The course presents a balanced challenge with a mix of straightaways and doglegs, featuring wide fairways and demanding approach shots. The greens are notably large, averaging 7,500 square feet each, and are maintained to consistent standards. The layout is described as formidable yet not overwhelming, offering an accessible but respectable test for golfers of varying skill levels.

Originally opened as Bentwood Country Club in 1994, the facility underwent a comprehensive $1.5 million renovation in 2004 and was rebranded as Oakhurst Golf Club. The course has earned recognition as a top-value option among Houston golf courses and is known locally as one of the area's premier golfing destinations. The clubhouse and grounds are maintained to high standards, complemented by practice facilities and the on-site Oakhurst Grill restaurant.
