Located in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, the Notojima Golf and Country Club is a 18-hole, par-72 facility set within a 1.23 million square meter expanse overlooking the Nanao Bay. The course is characterized by its long, flat, and wide fairways, which are designed to accommodate a variety of playing styles. A defining feature of the layout is the extensive use of water hazards, which are strategically placed on many of the holes to add complexity to the round. The greens are constructed with Bent grass and feature undulating surfaces that require careful distance control. The course offers multiple tee boxes to adjust the difficulty, with the back tees stretching to 7,007 yards and the regular men's tees set at 6,591 yards. The front nine totals 3,482 yards from the back tees, while the back nine measures 3,525 yards. The layout includes a mix of long par-5s and technical par-4s, with the 14th hole identified as the most challenging middle-distance hole due to its length and surrounding hazards. The 11th and 16th holes are notable par-3s that present distinct challenges, with the 16th described as a short hole played over water. Specific holes highlight the course's strategic demands. The 13th hole features a fairway that resembles an island, surrounded by water, requiring a precise approach shot. The 18th hole concludes the round with a par-5 that utilizes a tee box on a mound and requires a third shot over water to a elevated, platform-style green. The 15th is a lengthy par-5 that plays slightly uphill on the third shot to a two-tiered green. The design encourages players to navigate wide fairways while avoiding the numerous water hazards that define the Notojima experience.
