North Jersey Country Club is situated on three hundred forested acres in Wayne, New Jersey, twenty miles west of New York City, and is renowned for its award-winning Walter Travis-designed golf course and classically-styled Tudor Clubhouse. Since its founding in 1895, the club has aimed to provide members and guests with a consistently relaxing and rewarding experience. The 18-hole course features 6,540 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71, with a course rating of 72.2 and a slope rating of 130 on Bent grass.
The course is a classic Walter Travis design that has been wonderfully restored by Brian Schneider in recent years, featuring wild elevation changes, lots of blind shots, and perhaps the toughest set of greens in New Jersey which are very difficult to read and quite speedy. The course features lots of rolling terrain and awesome green complexes that make players think on every approach shot. Complemented by a world-class practice facility and driving range, the course is considered the most challenging in the area.
The course has been recently ranked in the Top 200 Classic Courses by Golfweek and in the top 10 in New Jersey by Golf.com. In addition to golf, members have the opportunity to enjoy casual and formal fine dining, a fully equipped fitness center, tennis and paddle tennis courts, an outdoor heated swimming pool, and access to banquet facilities.
