Nasu Highland Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in Nasu-Shiobara, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. The layout was designed by the renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., who utilized the natural topography of the Nasu Highlands to create a strategic challenge for golfers. The course features three sets of tees, with yardages ranging from 4,973 yards from the red tees to 6,239 yards from the blue tees. The fairways are maintained in Bentgrass, contrasting with the native rough, a combination intended to harmonize with the surrounding mountain scenery. The setting offers expansive views of the Nasu Highlands and the Kanto Plain, with the climate providing a refreshing environment for play throughout the year. The course is characterized by signature holes that highlight the terrain, including the third hole which looks out toward the vast Nasu Highlands, and the eleventh hole, a long par-5 that offers panoramic views of the Kanto Plain. The design incorporates natural elements such as the Nasu Clear Stream, where players can hear the water while attempting to reach the green on the sixth hole. Difficulty varies across the holes, with specific challenges noted for each. The first hole is a short, uphill par-4 featuring bunkers and scenic views, while the second is a straight, flat par-5 lined with pine trees. The ninth hole is described as a long and difficult par-4 with a distinctive green shape. The seventh hole is a slightly downhill par-5 where a pond on the right side serves as a hazard, noted as a habitat for fireflies. The eighth hole presents a par-3 with a cluster of bunkers to the right of the green, and the tenth hole is a downhill par-4 known for its steep grass grain on the putting surface. The facility includes a clubhouse described as having a dignified atmosphere reminiscent of a European castle, featuring a lounge with a fireplace and a restaurant with 60 seats. While there is no on-site shop, a vending machine is available on the course. The club is situated approximately 18 kilometers from the Nasu Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway and is accessible by a shuttle bus from Nasu-Shiobara Station. The course is currently operated as a private club, primarily hosting round lessons for the Konami Sports Club Golf Academy.
