Nakasu Golf Club is a 72-par, 18-hole course located in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Situated on a sprawling site, the layout is characterized as a hilly course that offers generous fairways and ample room for play. The course features a total yardage of 6,520 yards from the regular men's tees, with a par 72 configuration that includes a mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s. The front nine presents a variety of challenges, beginning with the 15th hole, a 364-yard par 4 that is described as a flat, short par 5. The 4th hole, a 444-yard par 4, requires careful club selection due to a gentle downhill tee shot followed by an uphill approach. The 5th hole is a 445-yard par 4 that doglegs left, featuring a fast green and demanding precise placement to avoid difficult second shots. The 6th hole, a 574-yard par 5, is lined with out-of-bounds zones on both sides, testing accuracy off the tee and on the approach. The back nine continues the test with significant doglegs and elevation changes. The 10th hole is a 395-yard par 4 that doglegs right, requiring accuracy to avoid out-of-bounds hazards and cross bunkers. The 14th hole, a 599-yard par 5, features a sharp right turn after the second shot, followed by a long uphill finish guarded by three bunkers in front of a very fast green. The 18th hole is a long 466-yard par 4 with wide, flat fairways, allowing players to maximize distance off the tee, though the green plays very fast from the back. Notable features include several par 3s that require precision. The 3rd hole is a 201-yard par 3 with a slightly downhill tee shot and a long, undulating green that makes approach shots difficult if missed. The 8th hole is a 174-yard par 3 over water, featuring a wide green that slopes steeply toward the back. The 15th hole is a 181-yard par 3 over water, with a wide, horizontal green that is low on the sides and high in the middle. The course has a history spanning 50 years, as indicated by recent 50th-anniversary events and competitions. The layout is designed to be spacious and relaxed, with wide fairways that minimize out-of-bounds concerns on many holes, though strategic placement is still required to navigate bunkers and elevation changes effectively.
