Nagatoro Country Club is an 18-hole course located in the hills of Nagatoro, a famous scenic spot in Saitama Prefecture, offering views of the Chichibu mountain range. Situated in Ogeda, Ogose District, the course spans 660,000 square meters and was designed by Mitsuo Komatsubara and Yohitaro Kawanami. It opened on August 12, 1968, and is operated by Kanto Bunka Development Co., Ltd. The layout is characterized by dynamic downhill shots, thrilling short holes, and a handcrafted design that harmonizes with the natural environment. The course features Bentgrass greens with a par of 72. The front nine measures 3,081 yards from the back tees, while the back nine measures 3,299 yards. The total yardage from the back tees is 6,380 yards. The course includes a mix of par 3, 4, and 5 holes, with specific yardages varying by tee box. The front nine includes a long par-5 first hole, a 170-yard par-3 second, and a 302-yard par-3 third. The back nine features a 451-yard par-4 tenth and a 541-yard par-5 thirteenth. Key characteristics of the course include significant elevation changes and strategic placement of hazards. The first hole is a dramatic downhill par-5 where the fairway slopes to the right, requiring precise tee shots to avoid bunkers. The fourth hole is a slightly dogleg-right par-4 with a narrow fairway and shallow out-of-bounds near the right side of the green. The course also features several dogleg holes, such as the left dogleg third and the left dogleg fifth, which demand accurate approach shots. Nagatoro Country Club is a member of the JGA, KGA, and NGK. It is accessible via the Kan-Etsu Expressway from the Hanazono Interchange, approximately 10 kilometers away. The course does not currently offer a club bus service from Ogose Station, having discontinued it in 2014. Golfers are advised to arrive 30 minutes before their start time for check-in. The course is known for its challenging layout that tests players with its varied terrain and strategic demands.
