Milnerton Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72, 6101 metre challenging coastal course situated just 10 minutes North of the city of Cape Town. The course was originally designed by Archie Tosh in 1925, with the modern layout created by Mark Muller in 1995. Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Diep River, this lush links-type course is fairly flat with few trees. With the sea and the lagoon bordering most holes, and the seven beautiful water holes waiting to claim the wayward shot, it offers a truly unique golfing experience.

Golfers play the outward nine with the prevailing south easterly wind – known as the "Cape Doctor" – at their back so they face a tough time after the turn if it's blowing hard, as it often does between December and March. The course is always in outstanding condition due to the expert resident Green keeper and Ground Staff, and being built on a sand base creates the excellent drainage that makes it a favorite venue among golfers in the winter months in the Cape when other courses are unplayable. Notable holes include the par-3 11th which reveals views of Table Mountain, the par-4 12th which is one of the most memorable holes, and the closing holes starting with the 304m 16th which adjoin the lagoon and wetlands, with the 373m 18th being one of the best par 4s in the Cape Peninsula.

Milnerton is a celebrated host of PGA events, including the prestigious South African Open. The course operates as a full-fledged championship course, hosting club and union competitions with approximately 50,000 rounds per year, and has been awarded top national rankings.
