Located in Towada, Aomori Prefecture, Michinoku International Golf Club is a 72-par, 18-hole course designed under the supervision of professional Terao Sugihara. The layout features a total yardage of 6,859 meters from the back tees, with a front nine totaling 36 par and a back nine also set at 36 par. The design aims to provide a strategic challenge for players ranging from beginners to low-handicap golfers, with specific attention paid to hole layouts, bunker placement, and green construction. The course presents a variety of distances and difficulties, with par-5 holes including the 1st (543 meters), 8th (566 meters), 10th (569 meters), and 14th (531 meters). Shorter holes provide contrast, such as the 4th hole at 203 meters and the 11th at 194 meters, both par-3s. The back nine features significant length, particularly the 10th hole which stretches to 569 meters from the back tees, and the 14th at 531 meters. To assist with navigation and strategy, the club utilizes GPS-equipped 5-seater carts that display hole layouts, pin distances, and green shapes. The facility also employs a Quick Shot laser distance measurement system, which uses reflectors placed on pin tops to provide accurate yardages within one second. These technological aids are integrated into the playing experience to help golfers manage club selection and course management effectively.
