Long Bridge Golf Course

Long Bridge Golf Course is a premier golf facility located north of Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport near Springfield, Illinois, overlooking the Sangamon River Valley. Designed and built by Merle Buerkett, the course opened in 1998 and has been providing scenic golf in a natural setting that creates a sense of escape from urban surroundings. The course is positioned to offer challenging play for golfers of all skill levels while maintaining an outstanding golf experience as its core mission. The facility underwent significant improvements beginning in 2004, including a redesigned driving range, number 1 tee, and fairway reconstruction supervised by Doug Falk and Merle Buerkett. Set within the natural landscape of central Illinois, Long Bridge emphasizes both the challenge of its layout and the scenic beauty of the Sangamon River Valley setting. Beyond golf, the venue includes a clubhouse restaurant, event spaces, and hosts live music performances, functioning as a comprehensive recreation and event destination.
