Langston Golf Course is an historic 18-hole, Par 72 course located on Benning Road in Northeast Washington, DC, along the Anacostia River. Built in 1939 as a replacement for the country's oldest golf course designed specifically for African Americans, Langston stands as a celebrated symbol of African American golf heritage. The course features rolling hills and significant water hazards, with the Tidal Marsh and Anacostia River lining the entire back nine holes. Hole names commemorate pioneering Black golfers in American golf history. While presenting a challenging layout, the course is known for its strong youth and family programs that have developed many notable players. In 2013, Langston was inducted into the National Black Golf Hall of Fame for its enduring representation of the struggle for equality in golf for Black Americans. The facility includes a driving range equipped with Toptracer Range technology and hosts Melva's Kitchen, offering food and beverage services to golfers and the public.
