Kintetsu Kashikima Country Club is a 18-hole, par-72 championship course located in the Shima area of Mie Prefecture, set within the Ise-Shima National Park. Designed by the renowned architect Osamu Ueda and opened on September 23, 1969, the layout takes advantage of a ria-style coastline, with the course situated between a maximum elevation of 30 meters and a minimum of 13 meters. The terrain is characterized by natural undulations and wide fairways that offer a sense of grandeur, while the design integrates the surrounding sea and the greenery of Mount Yokoyama. The course presents a strategic challenge through its use of high-walled Allison bunkers and tiered, podium-style greens. With a course rating of 74.4 and a slope rating of 142, the layout measures 6,959 yards from the back tees. The difficulty is managed through a variety of tee boxes, ranging from the pink tees at 4,890 yards to the back tees, with specific holes identified for long-distance and precision play. The 6th hole (par 4) and the 13th hole (par 5) are noted for distance, while the 5th and 11th holes are recommended for approach accuracy. Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club has a significant history in professional golf, serving as the venue for the LPGA Japan Tour. It hosted the Mizuno Classic, an official Women's PGA Tour event, annually from 2006 to 2014, with winners including Karrie Webb, Jiyai Shin, and Stacy Lewis. The tournament was rebranded as the TOTO Japan Classic in 2015, won by Sun-Ju Ahn. The course has also hosted the 1989 Mie Open, the 2002 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, and various JLPGA Legends Tour events in recent years. The club's architecture, designed by Junzo Sakakura, aims to harmonize with the natural environment, featuring a clubhouse that blends modernist principles with the local landscape.
