Ise Country Club ☆ Follow

Located in Tamagaki, Mie Prefecture, Ise Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by the renowned architect Seiichi Inoue. The course spans 7,007 yards from the B2 greens and 7,021 yards from the B1 greens, set within a total area of 990,000 square meters with a total elevation change of 20 meters. Inoue, who considered this one of his masterpieces, designed the layout to utilize the natural rolling terrain, incorporating a mix of uphill and downhill holes that provide strategic variety without causing excessive fatigue. The course features wide fairways and short, reasonable joints between holes, aiming to offer a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. The design emphasizes strategic play, with long par-4 holes that allow for aggressive shots even from average distances. The layout includes a variety of hole types, from wooded sections to those with water hazards, creating a dynamic routing that demands careful club selection and course management. While the fairways are generous, the heavy rough requires accuracy off the tee, making precision a key component of scoring well. The course utilizes two types of Bentgrass greens, B1 and B2, which are used on a rotating schedule to maintain optimal playing conditions throughout the year. Ise Country Club has a significant history in Japanese amateur golf, having hosted the 104th All Japan Amateur Golf Championship. It is also scheduled to host the 32nd Japan Grand Senior Championship in November and December 2026. The course has hosted numerous other prestigious events, including the Mie Open Golf Championship, the Chubu Amateur Golf Championship, and the Japan Women's Open Golf Championship regional qualifiers. A notable historical moment occurred during the club's opening commemorative competition in 1965, when a hole-in-one was achieved on the 17th hole, with a black oak tree planted as a memorial. The course is also recognized for its suitability for long-drive competitions, with the 3rd, 8th, 11th, and 18th holes often recommended for such contests.
