John Pitman Golf Club ☆ Follow

The John Pitman Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Hereford, Texas featuring 6,622 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course opened in 1950 and is owned and operated by the City of Hereford. Located at 400 South Main Street in Hereford, the course is situated in the Texas Panhandle region.

The layout features wide-open fairways and small greens of medium speed, with water coming into play on only a few holes. The 18-hole municipal course is characterized as easy to play and in good condition, with staff committed to continuously improving the facility. The course is staffed with a Class A PGA professional and a GCSA superintendent with four full-time maintenance employees.

The Deaf Smith County Chamber of Commerce annually hosts the "Tierra Blanca Classic," the premier two person event in the area. The John Pitman Golf Club has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the 'Places to Play' in Texas. The course hosts a number of tournaments for local and area players.
