Located in Awara City, Fukui Prefecture, Japan Central Golf Club is an 18-hole course designed by Obayashi Corporation and established in July 1993. Set within the natural landscape of the Hokuriku region, the layout offers a total yardage of 7,001 from the back tees with a course rating of 72.6. The course is designed to balance strategic challenge with scenic beauty, featuring undulating greens and fairways that demand precision. The front nine presents a mix of long and technical holes, beginning with a 425-yard par-4 that requires a drive avoiding right-side fairway bunkers. The second hole is a 530-yard par-5 dogleg left where players are advised to keep their drives in the fairway rather than attempting to carry the mountain. The third hole features a large tree guarding the front of the green, while the fourth is a 375-yard par-4 with lateral water hazards that require careful club selection. The fifth hole is a 428-yard par-4 flanked by lateral water on both sides, adding a significant penalty for errant shots. The back nine continues the strategic test with several demanding par-4s and par-5s. The seventh hole is a 472-yard par-4 featuring a two-tiered green that requires careful approach placement. The eighth is a short 207-yard par-3 where two large ponds guard the front of the green. The eleventh hole is a 453-yard par-4 that doglegs to the right from an IP flag, while the twelfth is a 397-yard par-4 with a炮台 (mound-style) green. The fourteenth hole is a 552-yard par-5 with a downhill tee shot and right-side out-of-bounds, and the eighteenth closing hole is a 518-yard par-5 that finishes the round. The course operates as a self-play facility with two-person and four-person carts available. It is located just seven minutes from the Kanazu Interchange on the Hokuriku Expressway, providing convenient access for players traveling from the Kansai and Chubu regions. The club maintains a private atmosphere with well-manicured fairways and greens that change character with the seasons.
