Located in Okegawa, Saitama, Iruma Country Club is a 18-hole, par 72 course set within the Musashino Hills. Designed by Nippon Ryoka Dohku, the layout opened on September 18, 1977, and is characterized by its rolling terrain and strategic demands. The course is situated near the historic Okegawa Plum Garden and offers views of the Nikko Mountains, with fairways and greens framed by dense woodland that changes character with the seasons. The signature hole is the 6th, a 415-yard par 4 that plays as a right dogleg. It is rated as the course's most difficult hole with a handicap of 1. The hole requires a precise drive to avoid the right-side out-of-bounds, setting up a second shot to a green that slopes away from the player. The design forces golfers to choose between aggressive distance and conservative accuracy, as a missed approach can leave a difficult uphill putt or a shot from a high-faced bunker. The course presents a consistent challenge through its undulating fairways and elevated greens. The 13th hole, a 194-yard par 3, features a glass bunker that serves as a significant hazard for shots that do not carry the green. The 18th hole, a 576-yard par 5, concludes the round with a long drive down a fairway that slopes to the right, requiring a powerful third shot to reach the green. The layout is designed to reward players who can manage their distance and navigate the subtle but effective elevation changes throughout the round.
