Inatori Golf Club is located in Inatori, Higashi-Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, and features four distinct nine-hole courses: the Ocean Course, Mountain Course, Island Course, and Forest Course. The Ocean and Mountain courses are played as an 18-hole round, as are the Island and Forest courses. The Ocean Course is characterized by wide fairways and a massive 20,000-square-meter pond, offering expansive views of the Izu Seven Islands and the Shizuoka Bay area. The Mountain Course is described as the most challenging of the four, featuring strategic water hazards, bunkers, and uphill greens that demand precise shot-making. The Island Course is set against the backdrop of the Oigaura sea and the Izu archipelago, with a layout that includes doglegs, elevation changes, and significant wind influence. The Forest Course is separated by woods, offering a more compact and tight layout with smaller greens and undulating fairways that test iron play and accuracy. Each of the four courses has its own par and handicap distribution, with the Ocean and Mountain courses typically totaling 72 par for 18 holes, and the Island and Forest courses also totaling 72 par for their respective 18-hole combinations. A signature feature of the Ocean Course is the sixth hole, which is considered a landmark of the club. The tee shot offers views of both the Pacific Ocean and Suruga Bay, with an out-of-bounds pond that adds psychological pressure. The Mountain Course’s third hole is surrounded by water on three sides, requiring exacting accuracy. The Island Course’s sixth hole is a short par-3 where a line of large stones and a front bunker complicate distance control. The Forest Course’s third hole is a valley-crossing par-3 that tests wedge precision. The courses are designed to take advantage of the natural topography of the Izu peninsula, with elevation changes, water hazards, and coastal views integrated into the routing. The Ocean and Mountain courses are often paired, as are the Island and Forest courses, allowing for varied playing experiences. The club hosts various member competitions and events throughout the year, and the courses are maintained with Bentgrass and Korai grass greens depending on the season and specific hole.
