The Ibusuki Golf Club Kaimon Course is a 7,230-yard, 18-hole championship layout with a par of 72, designed by renowned architect Sei Inoue. Opened on August 23, 1968, the course spans 500,000 square meters within a larger 1.65 million square meter property in Kagoshima Prefecture. It is situated at the southernmost point of Japan's main island, offering a setting defined by its proximity to the iconic Kaimondake volcano. The course has a distinguished history as a professional tournament venue, hosting the Casio World Open from 1981 to 2004. This 24-year run included appearances by Tiger Woods, establishing the track as a serious test for elite players. Since 2013, the venue has continued to attract top talent by hosting the Iwasaki Shiratsuyu Senior Golf Tournament on the PGA Senior Tour. Notably, it also served as the host for the 2019 Japan Professional Golf Championship. Beyond its competitive pedigree, the facility provides a full practice regimen, including a 250-yard driving range with 20 bays and two natural grass putting greens. The course is accessible via a 30-minute drive from Ibusuki Station or approximately 90 minutes from Kagoshima Central Station, and it maintains a close operational link with the nearby Ibusuki Iwasaki Hotel.
