Hurlston Hall Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course located within the historic Hurlston Hall Estate in Lancashire. Designed by internationally respected architect Donald Steel, the course opened in 1994 and was conceived in the late 1980s as part of estate diversification. Steel's design philosophy emphasised strategic play, natural contours, and integration with the surrounding landscape.

The course underwent refinement in 2011 when architects Tom MacKenzie and Martin Ebert enhanced the routing and strategic elements, including repositioning bunkers and features to sharpen the challenge while respecting Steel's original vision. The layout features four par 5s and multiple par 3s, with holes named after the estate's historic landscape features such as "Lightning Creek," "The Rockies," and "Cromwell's Table."

Key characteristics include water hazards including brooks and ponds that feature prominently on several holes, particularly "The Wallet" and "Jim's Billabong." The course presents variable difficulty across different tees, with strategic bunkering and sloped greens requiring careful club selection. The parkland setting complements the estate's rich heritage, offering a mature and evolved course valued for its thoughtful design and variety of challenging holes.
