Huntington Country Club is a private, member-owned club located midway between Huntington Village and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island's North Shore. Founded in 1910, the club features an 18-hole golf course designed by noted golf course architect Devereux Emmet. The course features 6,357 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70, with a course rating of 71.2 and a slope rating of 133 on Bent grass.
The course was designed to take advantage of the beautifully situated land with its fine natural mounds and deep rapidly sloping valleys. The course has been altered since its original construction, including modifications by Emmet again in 1928. Notable features include distinctive bunkers, such as the bunker at the end of the 10th fairway's fairway, which is divided into a tight "C" by a ridge running through, or the curious hazard off the left fairway.
The club was established in 1910 by a group of local and nationally prominent industrialists, financiers and philanthropists who aimed to establish a first-rate golf course along with other recreational facilities to meet the needs of a growing and prosperous community.
