Highlands of Donegal is an 18-hole course featuring 6,403 yards of golf from the longest tees with a par of 71 and a course rating of 70.6 with a slope rating of 121. Designed by Edward M. Beidel, ASGCA, the course opened in 1998.Originally opened as Groff's Farm Golf Club, the course is now known as Highlands of Donegal.
The eighteen holes are uniquely woven with the picturesque rolling terrain of the Pennsylvania countryside to flow with the natural beauty of the land, with each hole retaining its own individuality. The course can be played from numerous tees to provide a challenging test to golfers of all ability levels. The course has agrarian roots that give it a Scottish air, as rolling Pennsylvania farmland was clearly a solid basis for the layout. The architect embraced the Scottish golf course philosophy of building from the land as it was found, without significant earth manipulation.
The course appeals to intermediate-level golfers who prefer open fairways with strategic challenges and offers good value for money.
