Heron Executive Golf Course is a 9-hole executive course located along the scenic southern shores of Lake Miona in The Villages, Florida. Designed by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton and opened in 2006, the course features 1,468 yards from the championship tees with a par of 28. The layout includes one par-4 hole and eight par-3 holes, offering multiple tee options that accommodate golfers of all skill levels—from a beginner-friendly 851-yard layout to the more challenging back tees at 1,468 yards.

The course is characterized by its natural beauty, with large oak trees framing the holes and scenic lake views throughout the round. A defining feature is the unique "horseshoe green" hole, which distinguishes Heron from other executive courses in The Villages. The setting provides abundant wildlife viewing opportunities, including hawk, eagle, and alligator sightings. The course maintains a difficulty rating of 3 on The Villages' 1-4 scale, making it moderately challenging while remaining accessible to recreational golfers.

Heron hosts tournament play as part of The Villages Executive Golf Trail programming. The course hosts the Super Seniors tournament event during months with five weeks, and welcomes regular Men's and Ladies' Days competitions. As part of The Villages' Executive Golf Trail system of 46 nine-hole courses, Heron is maintained at a high standard and offers free greens fees to residents as part of their amenity package.
