Gunflint Hills Golf Course

Gunflint Hills Golf Course is a 9-hole municipal golf course located in Grand Marais, Minnesota, situated on the historic Gunflint Trail above Lake Superior. The course spans 3,030 yards with two sets of tees and features a par 36 layout with a course rating of 71.2 and 133 slope rating. Operating seasonally from May through October, the course is designed to challenge golfers of all skill levels.

The course is set in the scenic landscape of Minnesota's arrowhead region, positioned just over the Sawtooth Mountains near the gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The terrain is characterized by elevation changes typical of the area, with the facility noting that its driving range occupies one of the few flat spaces on the Gunflint Trail. Wildlife frequently roams the course, adding to the natural setting experience.

Gunflint Hills Golf offers a casual clubhouse atmosphere along with cart and club rentals. The facility demonstrates environmental commitment through solar panel installation. Owned and operated by the City of Grand Marais, it provides no-pressure golf in a scenic natural setting.
