Apostle Highlands Golf Course is an 18-hole public course located in Bayfield, Wisconsin, situated 500 feet above Lake Superior's Chequamegon Bay. The par 72 layout measures 6,332 yards from the longest of three tee sets and encompasses over 250 wooded acres. The course offers panoramic views of Lake Superior, Madeline Island, the Porcupine Mountains, and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore from 13 holes, with many featuring large, contoured greens.

The course design emphasizes consistent placement over length, rewarding strategic shot-making. The signature first hole features a small-scale replica of Lake Superior, requiring players to tee off over water. Notable holes include holes 3 and 12, which showcase exceptional views of the lake and surrounding landscape.

Apostle Highlands presents as a links-style course that plays as a stern test in windy conditions while remaining enjoyable in calm weather. The dramatic setting and scenic vistas are integral to the playing experience, with the course referred to as "The Pebble Beach of the North" by former Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle.
