Great Barrier Island Golf Club

The Great Barrier Island Golf Club is a 9-hole course located on Aotea/Great Barrier Island, situated 5 minutes from Claris airport. The course features a distinctive setting nestled between Te Ahumata (the White Cliffs) and Hirakimata (Mt Hobson), providing an iconic natural backdrop. The layout can be played as an 18-hole course, with the second 9 tee blocks positioned in different locations to create variety. The course is maintained entirely through volunteer work by club members. Club days operate on Thursdays and Sundays when the clubhouse is open, offering drinks and light refreshments. Green fees are $25, with equipment hire available for clubs and trundlers at the same rate. The club currently has 120 members, approximately half of whom reside off-island. Payment options include cash deposits at the club or online bank transfers.
