Designed in 1924 by Bertie Wey, the same architect of the famed Firestone South, J.E. Good Park is known locally as "The Park." Located in West Akron, Ohio, three miles from Downtown Akron and bordering Interstate 77, the course is conveniently situated for local golfers. The course measures par 71 and features 180 acres of tree-lined fairways and well-placed bunkers, emphasizing shot accuracy over distance. The greens offer true and fair putting surfaces that become challenging when pin placements are above the hole.
Good Park received a four-star rating from Golf Digest for public courses and hosts the Summit County Amateur Golf Championship and the Good Park Junior Tournament annually. The course hosted the 85th Annual Good Park Junior Tournament in 2024, an event established in 1938 that has seen PGA Tour professionals and Ohio Open champions as past participants. The Summit County Amateur Championship, first played in 1975, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024. In 2022, Good Park became home to the Tiretown Golf Club, the largest predominantly African American golf club in the United States.
