Salobre Golf Resort is a 36-hole facility located in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, comprising two distinct courses. The Salobre Norte (New/North Course) was constructed in 2008 and designed by Ron Kirby, featuring 18 holes with a par of 69. The course has undergone extensive renovations in 2012, 2018, and 2022. The complementary Old Course, designed by Roland Favré and inaugurated in 1999, is an 18-hole par 71 layout that hosted the Spanish PGA Championship in 2006, as well as Senior and Women's tournaments in 2001.
Both courses are set within the distinctive volcanic landscape of southern Gran Canaria, featuring dramatic elevation changes and rocky terrain. The Salobre Norte course is characterized by its challenging design that navigates rugged volcanic terrain, with significant elevation changes on most holes and narrow fairways flanked by rocky drop-offs or desert scrub. The resort's elevated inland location provides breathtaking views of both sea and mountains from many holes. The courses are designed to adapt organically to the surrounding environment, with the contrast between lush greens and arid volcanic desert creating a visually striking setting.
The resort offers year-round play and serves golfers of varying skill levels, though play requires a valid federation license and meeting handicap requirements (Men: 28, Women: 36). The facility includes comprehensive practice amenities, a Golf Academy, Club Fitting Performance Center with Trackman System, and the 5-star Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity.
