Fukuoka Sun Lake Golf Club is a 18-hole, par 72 course located in the warm, citrus-rich area of Takada-cho, Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Designed by Gaia Co., Ltd., the layout is situated on a south-facing slope, allowing the clubhouse to overlook the entire course. The terrain is classified as hilly, though the course itself is described as relatively flat with a total area of 1.03 million square meters. The course opened on April 27, 2003, and features Bentgrass greens. The layout is characterized by strategic water hazards that define the difficulty of the round. The front nine includes a demanding par-4 third hole requiring a tee shot over a pond, while the back nine features significant water challenges. The 11th hole is a 590-yard par-5 that demands precise positioning to avoid trouble on the right side. The 14th is a 228-yard par-3 over water with a difficult two-tiered green, and the 17th is a short hole played entirely over a pond with almost no fairway. The 16th and 17th holes are noted for their large ponds and scenic views, particularly when the cherry trees along the cart path bloom in spring. Key strategic holes test various aspects of a player's game. The 11th hole, recommended for driving distance, offers a long approach but requires careful navigation. Conversely, the 14th and 17th holes are highlighted for their pin-seeking difficulty due to the water and green complexes. The 18th hole serves as a dramatic finisher, where a right-side approach is guarded by deep bunkers and water, while the left side carries out-of-bounds, requiring high accuracy to secure the score. The course total yardage is 6,721 yards from the back tees.
