Greenland Resort Golf Course is a 36-hole public facility located in Arao, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, situated adjacent to the Greenland amusement park. The course is divided into three distinct 18-hole layouts: the White Course, the Green Course, and the Orange Course. The White and Green courses each consist of nine holes, which can be played together to form a single 18-hole round, while the Orange Course stands as a separate 18-hole layout. This configuration allows for a total of 36 holes available for play. The White Course is characterized by its spacious fairways and longer distances, making it particularly suited for long hitters. Success on this layout relies heavily on the distance and accuracy of drives and second shots. In contrast, the Green Course is noted for its strategic design and the subtle undulations of its greens. The layout offers a high-quality challenge where course management and putting precision are critical to scoring well. The Orange Course presents an American-style layout with wide, open fairways and expansive views. A defining feature of the resort is the panoramic scenery available from the Orange Course, which overlooks the Ariake Sea and Mount Unzen. The terrain provides a sense of openness and allows for clear sightlines across the landscape, integrating the natural environment into the playing experience. The facility operates with two-person golf carts that are permitted to travel on the course, allowing for a mobile and efficient round. Located approximately an hour’s drive from both Kumamoto and Fukuoka cities, the course is accessible via the Nankan Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway. The resort also offers seasonal operational plans, such as early morning round options during the summer months to accommodate weather conditions.
