Takamuroike Golf Club is a 71-par, 18-hole course located in Kamikusa, Kayo City, Hyogo Prefecture. Designed by Takeshi Kawada, the layout is set across a gentle, hilly terrain characterized by smooth, fast greens and fairways separated by beautiful red pines. The course features a mix of flat fairways with subtle undulations that influence approach shots, alongside five holes that incorporate water hazards to enhance both the visual appeal and strategic demands of the round. The front nine totals 35 par and 3,326 yards from the back tees, while the back nine is a 36-par, 3,449-yard stretch. The course challenges players with a variety of hole designs, including doglegs and sloping greens. Notable holes include the 6th, a 421-yard par 4 that plays as a right dogleg with a steep slope on the green, and the 12th, a 531-yard par 5 where long hitters can attempt to reach in two. The 18th hole serves as a demanding closing par 5, requiring a precise tee shot to the right side of the fairway to set up a manageable approach while avoiding the water guarding the green. Strategic elements are prevalent throughout the layout. The 3rd hole, a long 397-yard par 4, features a wide fairway but demands careful distance management due to fast greens that slope from back to front. The 16th hole is a short 344-yard par 4 where the tee shot strategy changes depending on the pin position, which can be located either at the front or back of a green with contrasting slopes. Wind is a significant factor on several holes, particularly the 5th and 17th par 3s, where crosswinds can drastically affect ball flight. The course also features bunkers and rough areas that penalize wayward shots, such as the traps on the 1st and 15th holes.
