Located in the Higashi-ku ward of Fukuoka City, the Wajiro Course of Fukuoka Country Club is a 72-par, 18-hole layout designed by Yoten Yuda. The course spans 6,622 yards from the back tees and is characterized as a strategic, traditional hilly course. The terrain features significant elevation changes, with the front nine totaling 3,600 yards and the back nine measuring 3,622 yards from the regular tees. The layout demands precision off the tee, particularly on the opening hole, a 520-yard par 5 where the right side is out of bounds, forcing players to aim left. The fourth hole presents another significant challenge as a 554-yard par 5 that requires navigating a pine forest on the left side while avoiding cross bunkers on the approach. The closing hole is a 513-yard par 5 featuring a gentle uphill right dogleg, with out of bounds lurking in the trees on the right side of the fairway. The course has a rich history of hosting professional tournaments. From 1973 to 1982, it was the venue for the KBC Augusta Golf Tournament, a major men's professional event that attracted winners such as Isao Aoki. Since 2012, the course has hosted the JLPGA Tour, previously as the Hoken no Madoguchi Ladies and currently as the RKB Mitsui Sumitomo Ladies. It also hosts the Fukuoka Senior Open Golf Tournament, which has featured winners like Yoshinori Mizumaki and Norio Shinozaki.
