Faithlegg Golf Club

Faithlegg Golf Club, located six miles east of Waterford City on the River Suir estuary, opened in May 1993. Designed by renowned Irish architect Paddy Merrigan, the course measures 6,674 yards from the championship tees and features Merrigan's signature design elements: undulating greens, strategically placed water hazards, and sand traps that challenge golfers of all levels.

Set within a 200-acre historic estate featuring mature trees that frame the holes, the course emphasizes strategy over distance. The layout accommodates golfers from three-handicap to eighteen-handicap players, offering both accessible options and tougher challenges. The finishing holes—a par-3 followed by two demanding par-4s—are particularly memorable.

The course has hosted significant tournaments, including the Ladies Irish Open Championship in 2000 and 2001, and the PGA Europro Tour from 2007 to 2009. It has been recognized as Best Golf Resort in Munster multiple times and features in Ireland's top course rankings. The greens are noted for being fast and undulating, maintained to excellent condition year-round. The clubhouse, situated in a restored 18th-century coach house at Faithlegg House, overlooks the course and offers fine dining and leisure facilities.
