El Diablo and El Santiago are sister nine-hole executive courses at The Villages in central Florida, sharing a starter facility. El Diablo is a par 27 course with yardages varying from 811 yards to 1486 yards, designed by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton in 1997. El Diablo is one of the most challenging tracks of the Executive Golf courses, requiring golfers to carry to elevated and very undulating greens throughout. The last three holes are among the most respected on the entire Executive Golf Trail.
El Santiago means "the saint" versus its sister course, El Diablo ("the devil"). El Santiago was built in 1998 and designed by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton. El Santiago has a length of 1207 yards and features large greens, minimal bunkers without water hazards, making it suited for novice golfers. The designers built El Santiago for learners and leisurely golfers, similar to other Level 1 courses like Sarasota, Chula Vista, and Turtle Mound.
Both courses are part of The Villages Executive Golf Trail and are located at the El Santiago Recreation complex in The Villages. Golfers can play from three sets of tees at El Santiago, making Executive golf as friendly or competitive as desired. The contrasting difficulty levels of the two courses provide options for golfers of varying skill levels within the same facility.
