Dempsey Ridge Golf Course is tucked away in a scenic Idaho valley above the resort town of Lava Hot Springs and is a privately owned public course operated by a group dedicated to golf. The nine-hole course was built in 1970 by a partnership of 13 men. The course was known as Thunder Canyon Golf Course until spring of 2009, when it was renamed Dempsey Ridge Golf Course. The course has a par of 35 and measures 3,177 yards.
The course is characterized by elevation changes and a number of creek crossings with hills. The layout provides a challenging nine-hole experience with diverse terrain and natural water hazards integrated throughout the design. The course operates as a public daily-fee facility accessible to golfers of all skill levels.
