Chonan Country Club is a 7,200-yard, par-72 golf course located in Nanbu, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Koji Yasuda and completed in 1978, the layout is characterized as a strategic course that balances accessibility for beginners with significant challenges for advanced players. The property features two distinct green surfaces, Bentgrass and Korai grass, which alter the yardage and difficulty depending on the season. The course is set within a natural landscape that includes valleys, ridges, and views of the surrounding terrain, with the clubhouse visible from the final tee. The front nine begins with a gentle uphill par-4 on the first hole, leading into a series of demanding holes that test accuracy. The eighth hole presents a unique challenge with a 130-meter bridge that players must cross to reach the green on a downhill par-3. The 14th hole, a 453-yard par-4, is a long, left-doglegging hole that requires two well-struck shots to reach the green in regulation.
