Charwood Golf Club was established in the late 1960s when L.C. Lucas developed a golf course on family farmland in West Columbia, South Carolina. The course features 27 holes divided into three nines called Red, White, and Blue, which can be played in different 18-hole combinations, with the White/Blue course starting with the original nine opened in 1968. The current 18-hole configuration offers a par-71 layout, with the redesigned front nine spanning 3,189 yards and the back nine at 3,176 yards from the professional tees. The course was designed by the Lucas Family.
Located at 222 Clubhouse Drive in West Columbia, Lexington County, South Carolina, the facility is situated near major interstates and the Columbia metropolitan area. The course features scenic pine trees throughout and blends playability with challenges suitable for golfers of varying skill levels. The facility includes three 9-hole courses with challenges suited for both high handicappers and low handicap players.
Charwood Golf Club is a locally owned, family business that is now in its third generation of ownership. The course features a well-maintained driving range near the clubhouse and includes a recently added outdoor patio area for tournaments and events. The course was originally built in 1993.
