Situated on the Lin Kou Plateau in Guishan District, Taoyuan, Chang Gung Golf Club Course is a 27-hole facility divided into three distinct nine-hole zones: North, Middle, and South. The course opened for play in January 1983 and is characterized by flat, wide terrain with moderate elevation changes. Each nine-hole section measures approximately 3,600 yards, featuring fairways that average 60 yards in width. The grounds are heavily wooded, with over 100,000 trees planted around the course, including a notable avenue of banyan trees that form a green tunnel leading from the entrance to the clubhouse. The layout presents a variety of challenges across its three zones. The North Course features water hazards on several holes, such as the 1st hole, a par-3 where the blue and white tees are protected by water, and the 8th hole, a par-3 that splits into left and right greens, both fronted by water. The Middle Course offers longer par-4s, like the 1st hole, which measures 410 yards from the blue tees and features a narrow left side to the tee shot and a narrow, elongated green protected by a bunker on the right. The South Course includes long par-5s, such as the 1st hole at 615 yards from the blue tees, which requires players to navigate two raised hills in the landing area before approaching a small, two-part green. The course is designed to accommodate various skill levels through multiple tee boxes, typically offering blue, white, and red options that adjust yardage significantly. The firm greens and wide fairways allow for aggressive play, though water hazards and strategically placed bunkers penalize inaccurate shots. The facility is known for its ecological integration, with the dense tree cover providing a distinct visual character to the flat terrain of the plateau. Chang Gung Golf Club has a history of supporting the development of golf in the region, particularly through youth programs and tournaments.
