Located in Taoyuan's Guishan District, the Oriental Golf Course is a championship 18-hole, par-72 layout designed by American architect Ronald Fream. Opening in 1995, the course measures 7,168 yards from the blue tees and was designed to integrate with the natural topography of the region, utilizing existing hills, streams, and water features to create a challenging standard for competition. The property is situated in a landscape rich with natural ecology, featuring a clubhouse that serves as a vantage point for the expansive green grounds. The course presents a variety of challenges across its 18 holes, with yardages ranging from the short par-3 13th at 158 yards to the demanding par-5 18th at 533 yards from the white tees. The front nine totals 3,339 yards, while the back nine extends to 3,469 yards, requiring players to navigate a mix of long par-5s and technical par-4s. The design incorporates natural hazards such as ponds and trees, reflecting Fream’s approach to harmonizing the layout with the existing environment. Oriental Golf Course has established a significant history in professional golf, serving as the designated venue for major tournaments including the Hit Charity Cup, the CTBC Ladies Open, and the Foxconn Ladies Open. The facility has hosted international events, including the JLPGA Tour, and has been recognized for its architectural merit, receiving the Japan Architectural Association's Asia Top Ten Architecture Design Award in 1996 and the highest five-star green building certification in Taiwan. The clubhouse, perched on the highest point of the course, offers panoramic views of the fairways and surrounding natural habitats.
