Belmont Lake Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located in historic Rocky Mount, North Carolina, just minutes off I-95. Designed by David Johnson Golf Design of Atlanta, the course features five sets of tees on each hole, playing 7,085 yards from the back tees and 4,900 yards from the front tees.
The course emphasizes strategic play with escalating difficulty from front to back tees, accommodating golfers of all handicap levels. The layout includes a balanced mix of dogleg lefts and rights, straight holes, and varying hole lengths with both large and small greens. Water hazards include an 80-acre lake that runs along the 18th fairway and two man-made ponds positioned throughout the course.
Notable conditioning improvements include the 2017 conversion of all greens to G-12 Champion Bermuda grass. The course is known for fast, true greens, wide-open fairways, and well-maintained sand traps. While reviewers note the layout is not particularly challenging for advanced golfers, it offers excellent conditions and playability for most skill levels, with particular appeal to long hitters.
