The course is located in the Peitou area of Taipei, positioned as the closest 18-hole regulation golf course to the city center, approximately a 10-minute drive from downtown. Established in 1970 by founder Mr. Ho Kuo-Hua, the facility is designed as an 18-hole championship course that integrates with the natural terrain. The layout was designed by renowned Japanese architect Tsuneo Abe, who structured the fairways to showcase the course's distinctive features and significant elevation changes. The terrain presents a challenging experience for golfers, characterized by distinct elevation changes that affect play on each hole. The course is noted for its integration with the natural landscape, featuring statues of the "Eighteen Arhats" standing beside each teeing ground, which adds a unique cultural and Zen-like ambiance to the round. The design ensures that every hole offers a distinct experience due to the varied topography. Kuo Hua Golf & Country Club has received recognition for its environmental stewardship, becoming the first golf course in Taiwan to achieve "GEO Certified" status, often referred to as the "Green Oscar" in the golf industry. The course is also recognized for its biodiversity, with reports indicating that 126 species thrive in harmony on the property. It has further been honored with the "Innovative Conservation Award" by the GCSAA and placed as a runner-up in the 2025 Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards, highlighting its commitment to sustainable golf practices.
