Bedford Country Club is a 9-hole golf course located in Bedford, Virginia, nestled at the base of The Peaks of Otter. Designed by Fred Findley of Charlottesville, the course originally featured sand greens which were replaced with grass in 1953. The layout remains largely true to Findley's original vision, with the course measuring 5,871 yards and offering a course rating of 68.2 with a slope of 112.
Despite its modest length, the course presents significant challenge through small, undulating greens and considerable changes in elevation that test players of all skill levels. The course features alternating tees for men (Blue/White) and women (Red/Yellow), allowing for varied play. A round can typically be completed in 3.5 hours or less, accommodating both walking and cart play.
The club, chartered in 1949, has developed into a full-service facility with a clubhouse converted from a former barn, swimming pool, and active membership programs. Year-round tournaments include couples golf and a junior golf program. The course is noted as one of the top 9-hole courses on the east coast.
