The Gents Open Texas Scramble takes place at Broomieknowe Golf Club, Bonnyrigg, on Sunday 23 August 2026. The format is a men's Texas Scramble played as strokeplay off the White tees. Teams of four compete, with the team handicap calculated as follows: 25% of the lowest individual handicap, plus 20% of the second lowest, plus 15% of the third lowest, plus 10% of the highest. Entry is open to amateur golfers holding a current World Handicap System (WHS) handicap index issued through a recognised affiliated golf club; handicaps issued directly from a national body are not accepted. Individual team members receive a maximum course playing handicap of 18 strokes (equivalent to a handicap index of 17.2); those with a higher index may still enter but will be capped at 18 strokes. The visitor entry fee is £20.00 per person. Booking closes at 09:00 on 22 August 2026. A full refund is available for cancellations made more than 14 days before the competition date; no refund is given within 14 days, though a full refund is issued if the club cancels. Catering is available in the Clubhouse from 09:00. Parking is available in the main car park; overflow parking is signposted at the main car park entrance. Competitors requiring a buggy (club-hired or personal) must check availability with the professional in advance and provide proof of eligibility to use a buggy in competition. Prizes are awarded as credit with the Club Professional for competitors from the Lothians Region; competitors from further afield may request a Scottish Golf Voucher instead. The competition committee has final say on all matters.
