Kashmir Cup round 1 is an individual medal (strokeplay) competition held at Royal North Devon Golf Club on Saturday 28th August 2027. The event is open to men who are members of affiliated golf clubs holding a CONGU handicap. Men must have a maximum playing handicap of 28 and ladies a maximum of 36. A 95% handicap allowance is applied. Entries are made online via the club website and must be accompanied by payment. The entry fee is £65.00 per visitor (non-member) or £10.00 per member. Entries close at the RNDGC office on the date of the competition, with a 72-hour withdrawal notice required for a refund. All players must be of amateur status as defined by The Rules of Amateur Status. A reserve list is maintained for this individual strokeplay event.

Royal North Devon Golf Club is England's oldest golf course, designed by Old Tom Morris in 1864. Located on 170 acres of Northam Burrows common land near Westward Ho! in Devon, the course offers authentic links golf with distinctive characteristics shaped by its coastal setting. The layout features challenging holes defined by huge dunes interspersed with flat fairways and vast bunkers, creating varied terrain across 650 acres of common land. The course gained its "Royal" designation in 1867 when the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, became patron. Known for its unique and demanding character, particularly in windy conditions, Royal North Devon presents a stern test despite being described as surprisingly forgiving. The conditioning is consistently excellent, with greens maintained to championship standards. Notable views extend toward the Bristol Channel and Lundy Island. The club maintains its historical significance while offering modern facilities and welcoming both members and visitors. The course's distinctive combination of natural landscape features and strategic bunkering creates holes that are unlike those found at most other courses.
