The Numazu Challenge Cup is a monthly open competition held at Numazu Golf Club. The 2026-10-30 edition is one of a series of monthly fixtures (other 2026 dates: 20 Nov, 18 Dec; 2027 dates: 22 Jan, 19 Feb, 26 Mar, 23 Apr). Entry is free and open to club members, point-card members, and visitors; visitors can join a free same-day membership on the day. The competition is played as a W-Peria (half-score) format on the front nine holes, with net scoring; in the case of equal net scores the older player ranks higher. Prizes are awarded for 1st through 5th place, a 5-stroke margin prize, and additional BG and BB categories. Tee markers: men use white (regular tee); ladies and players aged 70+ may use gold (front tee); ladies may also use red (ladies tee). The event is open to individuals and groups. No post-competition party is held. Tee times can be booked by phone (055-921-0611) or via the club's online booking system.

Numazu Golf Club is a 27-hole facility located in Numazu, Shizuoka, situated on the slopes of Mount Ashitaka with views overlooking the Suruga Bay. The course is divided into three distinct 9-hole layouts: the Ashitaka Course, the Izu Course, and the Suruga Course. These丘陵 (hilly) courses are designed to take advantage of the natural terrain and seasonal changes of the mountain setting. The club's architecture is defined by the design philosophy of Kisho Kurokawa, whose principles guide the construction of the clubhouse and its integration with the surrounding nature. The facility aims to provide a high-quality golfing environment that coexists with the natural landscape, extending this ethos to the playing surfaces themselves. The layout caters to a range of players, from beginners to veterans, through various event plans and open competitions hosted by the club.
