Friday Golf

Event Details

Date: Friday, 14 August 2026

Format: Individual Stableford

Category: Open

Entry Method: Online

Friday Golf (Fredagsgolf) is a recurring weekly individual competition held at Gripsholms Golfklubb every Friday throughout the season. Play starts between 09:00 and 09:50. The competition runs from early May through late September (last scheduled date 15 September, subject to weather extension), excluding Midsummer Eve and the Friday during Gripsholmsveckan. The scoring format is accumulator stableford played over each hole — players compete on every hole with extra points awarded for birdies, nearest the hole (green in regulation only), and par. Scores accumulate over the season, and greater participation increases the chance of winning season prizes. Players tee off from the regular tees; male players aged 70 and over may play from the red tees. The maximum handicap allowance is one stroke per hole, with no handicap strokes applied on the short holes. Registration is made via mingolf.se, with the deadline on Tuesday at 21:00 and the start list published by Thursday evening. The entry fee is approximately 10 SEK per round plus an additional accumulator fee of around 40-50 SEK. The competition is led by Kent Lanz (and Tobias Bergman), who also handles payments. Contact the competition committee at tavling@gripsholmsgk.se for further information.
