SSO Skogberga Senior Open

SSO Skogberga Senior Open is a weekly senior golf competition series held on Tuesdays from May to September 2026. The event on 2026-08-04 is round 14 of the series. Players aged over 59 are invited to participate. The competition is primarily played on the Skogberga 12-hole course at Jarlabanke Golfklubb, though some rounds are played at other courses including Vallentuna GK, Ängsö, Sigtuna GK, and Vassunda GK. Entries are managed via the Min Golf platform (mingolf.golf.se) where players must register and select a tee time. Scorecards must be submitted to the competition leadership (Peter Levander or Kjell Wallén) or sent via photo/email if not submitted beforehand. Scoring is based on a fixed point scale for top finishers: the winner receives 22 points, 2nd place 20 points, 3rd place 18 points, 4th place 16 points, 5th place 15 points, and so on with a falling scale. If there are more than 19 participants, the remaining players receive 1 point. The series includes a final round with a contribution fee of 130 SEK per person for a social event with prizes. Prizes include a wooden sculpture trophy 'GUBBSTRUTTEN' for the winning gentleman and 'KÄRINGEN' for the winning lady, both held for one year. The event was initiated by Jarl Ringfeldt.
