72-hole four-ball strokeplay tournament played over two consecutive 36-hole days across four courses at Bandon Dunes Resort. 68 two-person teams compete in a flighted event split into six flights based on aggregate team handicap indexes. Day 1 (Monday): Rounds 1 and 2 on Sheep Ranch and Pacific Dunes. Day 2 (Tuesday): Rounds 3 and 4 on Bandon Dunes and Bandon Trails. Course rotation within each day is dependent on flight seeding, which is determined after the handicap cut-off date. Sunday is arrival day; practice rounds are available based on availability at an additional fee. Wednesday is departure day. Players must hold a valid USGA World Handicap Index to compete in net divisions; those without an index are entered as scratch. The championship uses each player's July 1, 2026 World Handicap Index at 90% allowance per USGA WHS guidelines for four-ball strokeplay events. Maximum index is 19.5 per player; indexes above 19.5 are adjusted down. An optional daily skins game is available (cash, combining multiple flights). In the event of a tie for the overall gross championship, co-champions share the resident trophy and individual trophies are decided by the USGA recommended tie-breaker method; the same method applies for individual flight winners. Entry fee of $2,710 per person (shared double occupancy) is an all-inclusive package covering three nights lodging, four 18-hole rounds of golf, welcome punchbowl reception (with putting contest and optional skins sign-up), two lunches, awards dinner and drinks, and tournament gifts. Alternative lodging options are available at $3,280 per person (2br/2ba loft) and $3,760 per person (4-bedroom suites). The 2026 field is full; registration opens late summer each year on a first-come, first-served basis. A waitlist applies once the 68-team field is filled.

Prizes

Flight winners receive a commemorative trophy. First and second place teams within each flight receive Bandon Dunes gift cards. The overall Links Championship gross champion receives the resident trophy.

Old Macdonald is the fourth course at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, designed by Tom Doak and Jim Urbina as a tribute to Charles Blair Macdonald. The course asks what Macdonald would have created with the Oregon Coast as his canvas. The course presents considerable challenge through wind exposure, elevated greens, and strategic bunkering inspired by classic Scottish links design. Hole-by-hole, players encounter varying difficulty and shot-making demands. Golf Digest praised it as "the hottest course in America right now," noting its resemblance to West of Scotland links golf. The course emphasizes positional play and course management as key to scoring well.
