The course asks what Macdonald would have created with the Oregon Coast as his canvas. Notable features include the Biarritz hole with its distinctive swale and elevated tees offering remarkable views of the surrounding coastline. The course presents considerable challenge through wind exposure, elevated greens, and strategic bunkering inspired by classic Scottish links design. Hole-by-hole, players encounter varying difficulty and shot-making demands. Golf Digest praised it as "the hottest course in America right now," noting its resemblance to West of Scotland links golf.
