Centre Hills Country Club opened in 1921 and is a 27-hole private club located within the Borough of State College, Pennsylvania. The golf course features three distinctive nine-hole options that include some of the finest greens in Pennsylvania. The course measures 6,456 yards with a par of 71 and a rating/slope of 72.0/133, featuring bent grass fairways and greens with 63 sand bunkers. The original nine-hole course, The Findlay, serves as the Club's Front Nine and opened in 1922 under the design of Alexander Findlay, known as the Father of American Golf. Narrow fairways and small, well-bunkered greens characterize this course. The Club's Back Nine, The Jones, opened in 1967 under the direction of celebrated golf course architect Robert Trent Jones. The Jones course incorporates water features on five of its holes with the notable Slab Cabin Run, a tributary of Spring Creek, beautifully running through. The third nine holes, The Clark, lies adjacent to the Club's practice facility and opened in 1992, with Edmund Ault leading its development using innovative design concepts.

Designed and built by Marty Johnson, the course was developed in two phases: the original nine holes in 1996 and an additional nine holes completed in 2007. The course offers a countryside golf experience characterized by native rough, sloping terrain, and water hazards including a creek that winds through the layout. The signature 7th hole is the most challenging on the course, featuring considerable length, steep slopes, native rough, out-of-bounds areas, and a creek fronting the green. A particularly demanding section known as "Amen Bend" comprises holes 7-9, where a nearby church, the winding creek, and strategically placed hazards create significant difficulty and frequent bogeys. The course begins with more forgiving holes designed to build player confidence before increasing in challenge.
