Cane Creek Golf Course

Located at McClellan in Anniston, Cane Creek Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course originally built in 1942 and redesigned by architect George Cobb from a 9-hole to an 18-hole layout in 1970. The course stretches 7,049 yards from the back tees and 5,186 yards from the forward tees, offering challenges for golfers of all skill levels. Water features prominently in the course design, with a creek winding through the landscape and coming into play on 11 holes. Twenty-two bunkers are strategically positioned throughout the course, and numerous dog-leg holes increase the risk-reward element of play. Located near Bradley Green, Wotton-under-Edge, it is situated about 10 minutes from Junction 14 of the M5, within easy reach of the Bristol area. While not particularly long, its design ensures players of all calibres are tested as they progress round the golf course. The course can be testing with hazards including out-of-bounds, a stream, and 3 ponds. The course is overall flat or sloping with the steepest gradient being a short rise on the 6th hole. The course has proven popular over the years, being time and again amongst the most played courses in Gloucestershire. The course can be played twice to comprise a full 18-hole round, allowing players flexibility in choosing whether to play 9 or 18 holes.
