The course was designed to play through a residential community, with many fairways lined by houses and out-of-bounds stakes lining all the holes, so shot accuracy is at a premium. The course has a slope rating of 119. Open since March of 1963, Shepherd Hills operates as a public daily-fee course. Some of the fairways are tree lined, and all of them are bordered by a standard cut of rough. The course accommodates golfers of varying skill levels and is available for tournaments, outings, and casual play. Amenities include dining facilities and outdoor entertainment areas on the property.

Shepparton Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located on Golf Drive in Shepparton, Victoria, designed by golf course architect Sam Berriman and opened in 1959. The course was developed across approximately 88 acres of Crown land combined with purchased adjoining properties, situated on the right-hand sandbank of the Goulburn River, approximately two and a half miles from town. The course features grass greens throughout, with a comprehensive replacement program completed in 1999.
